DIY – decorate flower pots with fabric
Even if it might not seem like it, given the temperatures at the moment, spring is definitely on its way! And, as we all know, springtime is the time for flowers. What could be more beautiful than decorating your home and balcony with colourful flower pots? At least that's what we thought. And because the desire to make things and decorate gets stronger as the sun begins to shine, we've begun to brighten up some simple flower pots with cheerful and colourful ADO fabrics. This gives you the ideal opportunity to harmonise your flower pots perfectly with your furnishings and design them to match in your favourite colours.
We'd like to share this DIY project with you!
Here is what you'll need:
- Flower pots made of clay
- Your choice of ADO fabrics in the corresponding sizes
- Textile adhesive/spray adhesive
- Brush for applying the adhesive
First, cut the fabrics so that they are slightly larger than your flower pots. The easiest way to do this is to wrap the fabric around the pot once and then cut it roughly to size. This makes it easy to estimate how much fabric you need for the pot.
Then, spray the clay pot and fabric with adhesive and let the adhesive dry for a short time. Then, wrap the piece of fabric around the pot.
Cut the excess fabric at the top and bottom of the pot a little shorter so that only a few centimetres are left for folding over.
It's now time to use the liquid adhesive. If you have chosen a particularly thick fabric, it might be better to use the spray adhesive. To compensate for the roundness of the pot, make small cuts repeatedly in the fabric, spread or spray adhesive onto the fabric and fold it down at the edge.
That's all there is to it! Spring can come now!
Have fun planting flowers in your self-designed flower pots.
